Happy Birthday to Us! Mateo’s Turns Four

Mateo’s celebrates its fourth anniversary on Wednesday, September 16, and we’d like you to join us for a very special menu and a full-on party

Wednesday September 16 | 4-8pm

Grammy-nominated music sommelier David Katznelson, a self-described musician with a “serious vinyl problem,” brings his decks and his albums to create an aural tapestry of vintage Latin jazz and other good sounds that might just prompt a backyard dance party.

Chef Mateo will have a Front Porch Farms Cinta Senese pig roasting, a Preston lamb on the grill. Choose one and the good folks from Drakes Bay grilling oysters. Choose one, choose two or choose all three - it’s your choice. Served with plenty of seasonal side dishes.

It wouldn’t be a party without cocktails, and we’ll be serving tastes and cocktails made from Fidencio mezcal, Don Fulano tequila, and La Venenosa raicilla. La Venenosa’s owner and master distiller will be on hand to share his knowledge of raicilla, an ancient beverage that predates Spain's arrival on the Mexican coast. Made from the agave, like tequila and mezcal, raicilla is an unusual flavor generally unknown to American palates. Don Fulano’s owner also plans to join us.

As an extra treat - Mezcal Derrumbes, a new brand, will also be served. Brought directly from Mexico for our party, this is the first tasting north of the border!

Our fourth anniversary plans to rock the house on Wednesday, September 16, from 4pm to 8pm; our distillers pour from 6pm.
